The Merseytram
City Centre Loop
In
Liverpool City Centre Merseytram will provide a new, easy and convenient
way of making connections. The Merseytram City Centre Loop will link a
wide range of facilities for the benefit of everybody.
The
Merseytram City Centre Loop will connect:
- The
Pier Head, the World famous Waterfront and the Albert Dock;
- New
waterfront developments including:
- Six
of the eight sites run by National Museums of Liverpool:
- Maritime
Museum;
- Museum
of Liverpool Life;
- Liverpool
Museum;
- Walker
Art Gallery;
- The
Conservation Centre.
- The
Customs & Excise National Museum;
- The
Cultural Quarter - St Georges Hall;
- The
heart of the main shopping area and the major new retail and leisure
development planned for Paradise Street by Grosvenor/Henderson;
- The
main Commercial District;
- The
new Live/Work area - hotels, shops, and new apartments around
Dale Street;
Merseytram
will also provide public transport connections with:
- Merseyrail
- at Lime Street and Moorfields;
- Buses
- at Queen Square and Paradise Street; and the Mersey Ferries at the
Pier Head.
- The
City Centre Loop complements the wider package of measures in the City
Centre Movement Strategy being promoted by Liverpool City Council and
Merseytravel, which will be the subject of a separate consultation.
