The Line 1 Route

Merseytram Line 1 will provide a new form of convenient, affordable and environmentally friendly travel between Liverpool City Centre and Kirkby - providing access to education, training, work, shops, entertainment, cultural facilities and nightlife. The route from the City Centre to Kirkby will be:

• The Waterfront and Liverpool City Centre;
• London Road - for local shops
• Prescot Street - for Royal Liverpool University Hospital;
• Brunswick Road;
• West Derby Road;
• Rocky Lane;
• West Derby Road - for local shops and Tuebrook market;
• Muirhead Avenue;
• Queens Drive;
• Townsend Avenue;
• Utting Avenue East - for Broadway
• District Centre;
• Storrington Avenue;
• Stonebridge Lane - new housing and retail development in Croxteth;
• East Lancashire Road - The “Approach 580” regeneration area for new jobs. Also site of the Merseytram depot and Park & Ride facility;
• Moorgate Road - for bus link to Knowsley Industrial Park;
• County Road;
• Kirkby Town Centre - for central facilities including the market and community college.
